Shine Speech Pathology was founded in 2010 by Carolyn Edwards, a speech and language pathologist with experience developed over 30 years of practice in South Africa, the UK and Australia.

Graduating in 1992 with a BA Speech & Hearing Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, Carolyn worked for the local Education Department, providing assessment of hearing, speech and language skills as well as therapy programs to schools.

Moving to the UK in 1996, she provided assessment and intervention in a wide range of clinical settings, including Community Clinics, Day-Care Centres, Nurseries and Special Schools. She also provided specialist assessment and therapy in mainstream schools as well as in specialised units for children with a diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder and Autism.

In 2007 Carolyn moved to Melbourne and joined a Bayside Paediatric Private Practice (working with children of all ages and with a range of difficulties) before opening Shine Speech Pathology in Middle Park.

Carolyn is a Member of Speech Pathology Australia and holds Certified Practising Speech Pathologist Status.
